Services

Here is an overview of what I do and offer. You are individual and where appropriate I may discuss a combination of services to achieve optimal results.

Z-Health® Performance solutions in Applied Neuroscience

Z-Health’s approach to applied neuroscience centres on integrating the latest findings in brain science with practical movement education to transform health, performance, and rehabilitation outcomes. Built on principles that all training and rehabilitation ultimately targets the brain, whether consciously or not and emphasising the critical role of the nervous system in controlling every aspect of physical function. Targeting the hierarchy of visual, vestibular and proprioception (where you are in space) we identify the neural factors communicating with the brain that may need upregulating or inhibiting which impact movement, pain and performance.

Famo® fascia movement

FAMO is a fascia-focused body-minded movement modality taught as one to one sessions or buddy class environment in person in the studio.  Fascia is a body-wide extra-cellular network that shapes us and is our biggest sensory organ. The health-enhancing qualities of fascia contribute to balance, stability, movement efficiency, vitality and strength. The movement sequences contain dynamic and rhythmical as well as soft and melting exercises in all body positions.

foundation training

Uses a combination of powerful movements, intentional poses and conscious breathing techniques to activate the muscles in your posterior chain, teaching you how to decompress your ribcage through breathing allowing your spine to lengthen and your diaphragm to open. By simply doing this your breathing capacity increases and oxygen levels rise giving you more energy and eliminating fatigue.

deep tissue massage

Applying intense but measured pressure, deep tissue massage techniques reach the deeper substance of fascia, our connective tissue. I have an intuitive approach to feeling my way to bring ease and glide to the tissue releasing tautness and tightness within the chain of myofascial tracks of the body.  We work together to ensure you are comfortable with the pressure.

sports massage therapy

While sports massage appeals to those active in sport anyone who has day to day targeted pain can benefit. I use a combination of mobilisation and hands on techniques to ease congested fascial tissue impacting the healing of injuries and performance.

BodyReading®

The late Ida Rolf said, “Seeing is touch at a distance”.  Studying Thomas Myers BodyReading: Visual Assessment and the Anatomy Trains has given me the opportunity to tune my vision as a way of pre-feeling my clients habitual posture & compensatory patterns and sometimes the subtlety of their emotional approach to life.

kinesiology taping

I specifically choose the kinesiology taping brand RockTape because of its ability to stretch with movement and mimic the skin. When applied correctly the main properties of using kinesiology tape are to reduce the volume of pain, decompress areas of swelling and inflammation, allow full movement of the taped area and increase your awareness of neighbouring tissue function.

looking to learn yourself?

I have been teaching online classes and workshops since early 2020. You’ll find gentle 10min warm-ups, 12min energy bursts to 40min fascia-focused strengthening and lengthening classes. There is something for all abilities.

what do my clients think?

“Staying steady on your feet isn’t just about muscle strength — it’s about how well your brain interprets the world around you. With applied neuroscience, we train the brain’s balance, coordination, and reaction systems so you can move with more confidence and stability. Whether you want to prevent falls, recover faster from a stumble, or simply feel more sure-footed in daily life, this work helps you stay strong, steady, and ready for whatever life throws your way.”

“Here\’s why I can\’t recommend Sue enough: 1. A Personalized Approach: From the very first session, it was evident that Sue wasn’t following a one-size-fits-all approach. She took the time to understand my unique situation—my scoliosis, the tension in my muscles, and my pain triggers. It wasn’t just about kneading muscles; it was about understanding my body’s story. 2. Skillful Techniques: Her hands seemed to have an innate intelligence. Whether it was deep tissue work, myofascial release, or gentle stretches, she knew precisely where to apply pressure. Each stroke felt purposeful, like she was coaxing my spine back into alignment. 3. Holistic Healing: Beyond the physical techniques, Sue brought a holistic perspective. She encouraged me to focus on breathing, mindfulness, and relaxation during sessions. It wasn’t just about fixing my back; it was about nurturing my overall well-being. 4. Progressive Improvement: Over time, I noticed significant changes. My scoliosis-related pain diminished, and my posture improved. I could stand taller, move more freely, and even sleep better. It was like my body was saying, “Thank you!” 5. Empathy and Encouragement: Healing isn’t just about muscles; it’s about emotions too. Sue listened to my frustrations, celebrated small victories, and reminded me that healing takes time. 6. Educating and Empowering: She didn’t keep her knowledge a secret. Instead, she shared tips for maintaining a healthy back—simple stretches, posture awareness, and self-care practices. I felt empowered, knowing I could contribute to my own healing.”

“For years I suffered, sometimes daily, with back pain, due to a long-standing problem with scoliosis, muscle inflammation and consequentially, bad posture. This resulted in poor sleep, low energy, low moral…… you get the picture I then started seeing Sue. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication has, over the years transformed my life, especially in dealing with my scoliosis and persistent back issues. Sue isn’t just a professional; she’re a healer. If you’re dealing with scoliosis, chronic back pain, or simply need rejuvenation, seek her out. She’s turned my spine’s saga into a success story, and I’m forever grateful.”

“I just wanted to send this email to say Merry Christmas and to thank you again for all of your help getting me back on my feet. I managed to climb mount Snowdon in Wales in October, this is something that would have been impossible 18 months earlier and without your help and the things you taught me. ”
